District 46 Annual Website Contest

District 46 announces its Annual District 46 Website Contest. Clubs with websites accessible from the Internet will automatically be entered into judging for one of two categories: FreeToastHost 2.0 sites and Self-Hosted Sites.

Judging begins at the end of February 2012 and continues through mid-March. Winners will be announced at the end of March. All clubs are automatically entered. FreeToastHost 1.0 websites are not eligible.

First Place in each category will receive:

  • Recognition in a brief ceremony at the District 46 Spring Conference.
  • Invitation to a special Breakfast event during the conference.

Second Place and Third Place in each category will:

  • Be announced at the District 46 Spring Conference.
  • Be listed in the Hall of Fame booklet.

All clubs receiving "Excellent" (70 to 85 points) or "Superior" (85 to 100 points) ratings will be listed in the Spring Conference program journal and Hall of Fame booklet.

The panel of judges will evaluate each website by the following criteria:

Rebranding – 40 points

  • Does the website reflect the new branding look set forth by Toastmasters International?
  • How well does it accomplish it?
  • Does the website use graphical elements, either self made or provided by Toastmasters, that help extend the rebranding effort?
  • Are the Toastmaster logos used appropriately and not altered?

Overall Design – 20 points

  • Does the website reflect the club and Toastmasters in a positive light?
  • Is the website easy to navigate?
  • Does the website have too much or too little text?
  • Are the images on the website appropriate?
  • Does the club culture come through on the website?

Purpose – 20 points

  • Are meeting time, location, and directions prominently displayed?
  • Are maps or links to maps available?
  • Are there other links, which help depict the club culture or give more information about Toastmasters?
  • Is there an easy way for guests to contact a member in the club?

Current – 20 points

  • Is the website up-to-date?
  • It is updated regularly with pertinent information?
  • Is there a blog attached to the website which acts as a simple newsfeed for club updates or news?
  • Are their social media links, like Facebook or Twitter, available on the site?

All clubs are automatically entered. Start polishing up that website now!
