Talk Up Toastmasters!

Think about all the benefits that you get from your Toastmasters membership: better communication skills, higher self confidence, better leadership abilities, opportunities for networking and learning, camaraderie with your fellow members, challenges to your creativity, learning from your fellow members. Would you have any of those if someone hadn’t told you about Toastmasters?

How about sharing some of these benefits by inviting your friends and colleagues to attend a Toastmasters meeting? The best method for getting the word out about Toastmasters is still word of mouth!

During the month of March, I challenge each of you to bring at least one guest to every one of your club’s meetings. Here’s what’s in it for you and your club:

  • If you add five new, dual or reinstated members during the months of February and March, you get a Talk Up Toastmasters ribbon for your banner. The club will also earn a choice of one module from The Better Speaker Series, The Successful Club Series or the Leadership Excellence Series
  • If you bring your club back to 20+ members or get a net gain of five members by April 30, your club can be eligible for Distinguished Club status (or better) if it makes at least five DCP goals.
  • More members in your club means less work for you, greater variety of meetings from week to week, and more potential friends!

So what’s your excuse? Bring a guest to your March meetings. Membership recruitment is not just the job of the Vice President Public Relations and the Vice President Membership. It is your job and everyone’s job, and everyone in your club benefits!
